About Us

Halsey Homes is a boutique custom home builder and renovation specialist serving Fredericksburg and the surrounding region. We build with intention, and every project we take on reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, transparency, and the kind of attention to detail that volume builders simply cannot offer. We are looking for a Superintendent who shares that standard.

About The Job

As a part-time contract Superintendent, you will serve as the on-site leader for residential construction and renovation projects, managing daily field operations from groundbreaking through final punch. You are the person who keeps things moving, holds subcontractors accountable, and ensures that what gets built matches what was designed and specified. You represent Halsey Homes on every job site, which means you carry yourself and your work accordingly.

Responsibilities

You will oversee day-to-day field operations across active projects, coordinating subcontractor scheduling, sequencing, and performance. You will conduct regular site inspections to verify quality and code compliance, identify issues before they become problems, and communicate proactively with the project team. You will maintain accurate daily logs, document site conditions and progress, and flag scope, schedule, or budget concerns early. You will also serve as a primary point of contact for trade partners on-site, holding them to Halsey Homes quality expectations.

Requirements

We want someone with at least five years of field experience in residential construction, ideally with exposure to custom homes, additions, or historic renovations. You understand construction sequencing, can read plans and specifications, and know how to manage subcontractors without burning relationships. You are organized, communicative, and self-directed. Experience with project management platforms like JobTread or similar tools is a plus.

This is a part-time contract position with hours that flex based on active project load. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
